Lasooni Methi

Ingredients- सामग्री

  • 1 bunch fresh methi (fenugreek) leaves
  • 10-15 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 medium tomato, finely chopped
  • 3-4 dried red chilli
  • 2 tbsp of roasted peanuts
  • 1 tbsp of roasted sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp of roasted beasan
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil or ghee for cooking

Procedure:

  • Heat oil in a pan or skillet over medium heat. Add chopped garlic and fry it.
  • Add chopped methi leaves and fry it on medium flame for a minute.
  • Take out the fried methi in a bowl.
  • Add 1 tbsp of oil or ghee in the same pan.
  • Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  • Add chopped garlic and sauté until it turns golden and aromatic.
  • Add chopped onions and cook until they become translucent.
  • Add dried red chilli and fry it.
  • Add chopped tomato, salt and cook it for 2 minutes on low flame.
  • Add turmeric powder, red chili powder and mix well and cook for a few minutes.
  • Add roasted besan, peanuts and sesame seeds powder and mix.
  • Add ½ cup of water and cook until the oil starts to separate from the mixture.
  • Add the fried methi (fenugreek) and mix well. add water as required.
  • Cook for a few more minutes on medium flame. don't over cook.
  • Serve the Lasuni Methi with rice, roti, or naan.
